Foster Family Brings Tillie Health, Love, and Comfort
Tillie, a senior terrier, was found wandering the streets of Boston, alone and afraid. After no one claimed her, Boston Animal Control reached out to Baypath Humane Society to find her a home, and she was swiftly brought over by one of our dedicated volunteers. It was clear that Tillie had been through an ordeal. She was unkempt, underweight, and in desperate need of a dental surgery.
Our priority was to find Tillie a quiet, comfortable place to recuperate and, within a couple of hours, Tillie was snuggling up in a warm bed in her new foster home. In a foster home Tillie found love, safety, and comfort. Her personality started to blossom and it was clear that this little girl had a lot of love to give. Despite being dumped onto the streets, Tillie wanted to be around humans and share her endless affection. She proved herself to be an excellent office assistant and lap warmer extraordinaire!
Through Baypath’s foster program, Tillie found her “furever” home, where she is happily thriving. After adoption, Tillie swiftly underwent a dental and spay surgery, through our community friends at Ashland Animal Hospital. We heard a wonderful update from her adopted family: “Tillie has recovered well and has been given a new lease of life, with a new haircut and a sweater collection to rival my own! She is the most spoiled princess. Everyone who meets her just loves her! Especially my parents and friends. I love her so much.”
Tillie’s new mom shared her experience of adopting a dog in foster care from Baypath. “It was great because Tillie gets nervous in busy environments and I think her personality wouldn’t have shown well at all in a shelter. I would have thought she was so nervous if I met her at the shelter!”
