Increasing Awareness in the Community
Thanks to a generous ongoing support from our friends at Middlesex Savings Bank, Baypath Humane Society is able to offer free educational programs on a range of animal care topics via the Baypath Educates Program. Our Community Liaison Michelle Kreell visits schools and community groups to talk to both children and adults about our shelter and a host of other topics relating to animals and animal welfare.
Meet our Community Liaison Michelle Kreell
Michelle began volunteering at Baypath in 2013 and took on the role of Community Liaison in 2018. In this role, she develops fun student and scouting programs to foster empathy for animals and to teach students about humane animal care. She recently completed training in the nationally-recognized lesson plan American Humane Society’s KIDS Initiative (Kids Interacting Safely with Dogs) and is dedicated to teaching students across our community about safe animal handling.
In addition, Michelle Kreell is an extraordinary foster mom who champions our “underdogs”. Dogs with serious behavioral or medical issues can be tougher to find homes for, yet Michelle never lets that deter her. Over the years, she has fostered more than 50 animals — including some of our toughest to adopt dogs. From a bulldog with spina bifida to a terrier who was paralyzed by fear, Michelle brings hope to so many deserving animals.

It was truly a pleasure to have you here! I think the presentation was a good fit for the age group - and it was wonderful that that one family was able to become a bit more comfortable working through their fear of dogs (I could tell it meant a lot to the mom!). Thank you again for coming, and please know that I'll be sharing our wonderful experience with other Mass librarians. 🙂 -Allison, Sharon Public Library
The kids were so excited about this meeting, thank you so much! It would’ve never known this was your first time doing it virtually! We will start our collection at the next meeting, we look forward to being able to make some donations to Baypath! Thank you again! -Laura, Franklin Brownie Troop 82351
