Our Volunteers Are The Cat’s Pajamas!
Volunteers are truly at the heart of Baypath. Whether socializing shy cats, walking energetic pups, teaching humane education, fostering puppies, driving to veterinary appointments or cleaning cat rooms, each volunteer shares not only their time, energy and skills, but also their love and dedication.
In 2022, over 10,000 volunteer hours were completed, nearly doubling the previous year’s total. Our amazing volunteers are essential to the daily operation of the shelter as well as the reach of our outreach programs, promoting the health, care and adoption of countless deserving animals. Their compassion and commitment breathes life into our work and empowers our mission.
We are super thankful that our volunteer network continues to grow! In the first four months of 2023, our spectacular Volunteer Coordinator Aimee McDevitt has already onboarded 17 new dog volunteers, 3 new cat volunteers and 3 new shelter cleaning volunteers, all of whom we eagerly welcomed to the Baypath family.
As a small token of our team’s appreciation for these incredibly giving animal advocates, we celebrated Volunteer Appreciation Week by creating gratitude-inspired goodie bags for each volunteer, personalized messages for each unique branch of volunteers and creative signage around the shelter. We love our volunteers!
