End the fiscal year with puppy love
The close of the fiscal year is the perfect time to reflect on the challenges and triumphs of the past 12 months. Community need has been relentless, with increasing numbers of local pet owners facing economic hardships and rescue organizations nationwide contending with the ongoing dog sheltering crisis and decline in adoptions.
With both family and shelter resources pushed to the limit, the generosity of donors LIKE YOU has allowed the animals we serve to thrive during this extremely challenging time in animal welfare. Thanks to your enduring commitment, our team warmly welcomed over 800 vulnerable cats and dogs throughout the past 365 days, including precious Puggle Maple.

It was love at first sight when adopter Erika Haverty laid eyes on petite, floppy-eared Maple. “I fell in love the second I met her, when she crawled into my lap and fell asleep,” she explains. Now a treasured family member, Erika shares some of this once-homeless pup’s most endearing traits:

Upon hearing my alarm, Maple sprints to my bed to snuggle before we start each day.

Maple falls asleep just about anywhere (especially in the sun) – and is snoring in no time.

I realized Maple’s love of water one day in the shower, when I looked down and saw she had surprisingly joined me!
