Ally’s Transformation
In early 2023, we welcomed sweet Ally into our care. Despite being just five years old, Ally appeared much older due to her chronic medical issues. Shelter Manager and Certified Veterinary Technician Nikki Baltas and Consulting Veterinarian Andrea Moolenbeek immediately addressed Ally’s complex health needs and ordered bloodwork. As her paws were swollen from chronic foot infections the staff ensured this soulful-eye pup had soft, clean blankets and towels to snuggle up in.
Ally quickly went into a foster home where she began to heal under their loving care and before long her kind foster family decided to make this adorable canine part of their fur-loving family! Within a few months of receiving the patient and compassionate medical care she needed, Ally has blossomed into a wonderful family member. Ally’s incredible adopters feel fortunate to have this special girl in their lives. According to her adopter Tom, “her skin/fur is healthy and back to normal and the swelling in her paws has dramatically reduced. The Vet says her paws will always be slightly larger than normal, but they look so much better than before.”
Tom shares that his new addition’s favorite toys include a stuffed dinosaur, lamb and bunny, which she happily takes along on neighborhood walks. When Ally isn’t taking her toys on walks, she can be found joining her new family on car rides, stopping every so often for a Starbucks ‘Puppuccino’ or visiting with her best friend George, a Baypath alum adopted by a family member! According to Tom, Ally has removed the squeakers from each and every toy they’ve purchased for her, but “she has never ruined any of the toys Baypath gave us when we first picked her up to foster her, and loves to sleep with those toys specifically.” ❤️
Ally’s heartwarming transformation truly would not have been possible without an essential combination – conscientious veterinary care + thoughtful adoption matchmaking + a doting forever home = one healthy and happy pup!
