Emma Wailgum, KPA CTP
Emma joined the team in June of 2021 as a full-time In-Shelter Dog Programs Coordinator. In addition to the daily care and adoptions of our animals, Emma works with our Dir. of Training & Behavior to address training and enrichment in shelter, including working with and empowering staff and volunteers to implement behavior plans. Emma just graduated from UMass-Amherst with a degree in Nutrition. She has adopted two family dogs and one dog of her own from Baypath.
Emma has completed the Massachusetts Animal Coalition’s AniMatch training – Canine Body Language and Behavior Observation Training. She is an approved AniMatch Behavior Observer. Emma has also completed the Fear Free Shelter Program – a program committed to reducing stress in shelter animals. Most recently, Emma completed the Karyn Pryor Academy – a comprehensive program focused on force-free, positive dog training methods – and earned the certification of Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP).
