Foster: Sue Caron
How long have you been fostering?
Fostering since 2003
Was there something specific that made you want to foster?
While my daughter, Katie (who now works at Baypath!) and I were involved with Girl Scouts, we would do donation drives for the animals at Baypath Humane. It was through that work that I learned about fostering for Baypath. Since we lived in a rented home and we were unable to own animals we started to foster cats and kittens. It was a perfect compromise.
What impact has fostering had on your life?
A big impact. Through fostering the animals that come into our care we do see the good and the not so good side of people.
Do you have a funny or special story or a special foster to share?
There are a few I carry in my heart. Cass was a very small kitty with water on the brain. We all fought hard for him but sadly we lost him. Arthur was a kitten born with his back legs reversed. He had the funniest personality and could out run all the other kittens! I also have a few ‘foster fails’ such as Rushka, Flower and Rosie.
Is there anything else you would like to add or include?
Baypath is my family…they have given me so much more than I have given them. Their dedication to animal welfare goes above and beyond.
