Volunteer Spotlight: Volunteer Rick D’Innocenzo
Since 2015, Baypath volunteer Rick D. has brought happiness to so many dogs in our care, giving them the freedom to enjoy long trail walks, tons of sniffing opportunities, and plenty of cuddles. Daily walks help dogs in the shelter by providing them physical and mental stimulation that is essential to their well-being.
In addition to this work, Rick is always willing to pitch in with whatever needs to be done around the shelter, from laundry to dishes to yard work.
Over the past few years, Rick has also become a critical member of our spay/neuter program at VCA Animal Hospital, where we have performed more than 200 surgeries to date. Rick is both a professor and (human!) surgeon by day, so he is able to support the post-operative care of the animals as well as teach others who participate in the clinics.
