Success Story: Turtle Cluster
Success Story: Turtle Cluster
This girl came to us from our wonderful local partners Charles River Alley Cats. Like so many young cats who come to us off the streets, Turtle was under socialized and very overwhelmed by the shelter environment. Our staff and volunteers immediately recognized this and set forth a plan to help her succeed. She was housed in our ‘library’ which is a quieter environment for the shyer cats. There, she met and quickly gravitated toward another success story in the making, Houdini. It was that companionship of a more social nurturing cat that helped her begin to come out of her shell more. Additionally, the enrichment and socialization efforts of our dedicated ‘Kitty’s Gone Friendly’ cat volunteer corps helped us figure out that gentle chin pets and free-flowing Temptations were the way to this girl’s heart.
Thanks to our Volunteer Program and our wonderful social media community, we were able to find her a great match with a new fur brother Leo to help her with that next transition. While Turtle, now Lilly, will likely always be on the shy side, her family is doing everything they can to make her feel safe.
Per her new mom Heather –
Ms Lilly is doing very good. She loves my other cat Leo. Every time I bring him in she pops up and is all around the room. Of course, I have to stay still on the bed so I don’t scare her. Lilly is slowly getting used to me. She will let me pet her and she has been purring as long as she can stay safe under some warm stuff.
