Success Story: Blitzen
Success Story: Blitzen
A few months ago, we took in an 8 month old pup named Buster. We could tell this adorable little lug had had some sort of face injury to his left side. Per our vet partner, he was partially (at least) blind in left eye. He also had a left ear canal injury, which left his ear with a very small opening and perhaps more prone to infection. He also had more acute skin and gastrointestinal issues likely due to the stress and transition to the shelter.
Before we could even turn to our robust foster network to get this little guy into a home, a previous adopter of a special needs dog reached out in hopes of adopting another dog. We instantly thought Buster! We knew this family was willing to take on special needs cases and that they would have the patience to help him navigate his world with his challenges.
Bridget and family did not hesitate to give this guy a shot. They scooped him right up and brought him back to see our vet several times as we worked to get him in good shape. And then they adopted Buster – now Blitzen!
From his new mom Bridget –
‘Had to share this cuddly picture! We have more dog beds than dogs in this house, but Blitzen HAS TO snuggle up with Chip as often as possible! Lots of love here!!’
