We appreciate our fosters and have asked them to share their stories.
Foster: Justina Puntini
How long have you been fostering?
December 2020
Was there something specific that made you want to foster?
I lost my best friend (dog) in 2020. I couldn’t save her from that horrible cancer, but with her passing, I realized that there were so many souls that I could still save. And I would do it in her honor.
What impact has fostering had on your life?
It’s improved my dance moves, as I am always maneuvering around toys, bowls, leashes, etc. In all seriousness, its giving me a new meaning to life. Its not only opened my eyes and mind, but my heart as well. And has increased my thirst for knowledge, as well as improved my skills and ability. Simply put, fostering has made me a better person.
Do you have a funny or special story or a special foster to share?
All my fosters (including my current one) have been amazing in their own ways. But one sticks out at the moment. His name was Austin. A beautiful boy with a heart of gold. He came to me with a very hard past, and it was clear from both his behaviors and physical appearance. But despite everything, he was able to learn to trust and love again. I always tell people I’ve learned more from dogs then I ever will from people, and Austin was surely proof of that.
Is there anything else you would like to add or include?
I am thankful and honored to be a part of this beautiful journey.
