Middlesex Bank Sponsors Baypath’s 2022 Education Initiatives
Middlesex Savings Bank has been a partner and supporter of ours for years. In 2019, they furthered their support of our mission by sponsoring our Humane Education Program. Since then, they have partnered with us on countless initiatives, including:
- Sponsoring a pet CPR training in partnership with Boston West Emergency Veterinary & Speciality
- Sponsoring lectures with renowned animal welfare professionals, including Dr. Rachel Geller, Ed.D., Debbie Jacobs, CPDT and Malena DeMartini, CTC, CDBC
- Enhancing our Baypath Educates! Program by empowering us to obtain additional literature and technology
- Enhancing our Project Just Because Pet Food Pantry partnership by empowering up to obtain equipment and needed supplies
Most recently, we asked Middlesex to support us, yet again, as we look to meet the current needs of our community – and, yet again, they said yes!
In this past year, we have found that the overwhelming need in our community is for more educational resources focused around animal care, safety and enrichment – both in shelter and in homes. To that end, we wanted to roll out a more robust resource package for our constituency across our various programs. Middlesex Savings Bank’s investment in this initiative will allow us to provide those in our Adoption, Volunteer, Foster and Baypath Educates! programs with critical resources to meet their needs – cat or dog – body language, enrichment, training, kid safety, etc. This initiative will impact well over 1000 families by giving them the resources they need to succeed.
About Our Programs
Adoption Program – This past year we were able to help over 800 families welcome 888 cats and dogs into their homes. We served families in 197 cities and towns in Massachusetts.
Volunteer Program – This past year we were able to onboard a few dozen new cat and dog volunteers bringing us to over 120 local volunteers in our ranks. This dedicated group gave over 7500 hours to help care for the animals.
Foster Program – Our Foster Program played a critical role this past year enabling us to place some 300 cats and dogs who were more at risk in shelter into temporary homes, while also allowing us to focus more resources on those in shelter. We are fortunate to have over 100 local families in the Baypath Foster Program.
Baypath Educates! Program – Our Baypath Educates! Program allowed us to get out in the community and work with our animal-loving youth – in spite of the pandemic. Our Baypath Educates! Coordinator and Community Liaison Michelle Kreell hosted library reading groups, animal career days, scout events, and more. This past year Michelle engaged with over 100 children.
