Medical Success Story: Meesha
Medical Success Story: Meesha
Meesha came to us with a relatively unknown past. She was surrendered to a local animal control by a family that had her for the past year but were not in a position to properly care for her. The animal control officer is someone who Baypath regularly works with and he called us for help.
Our initial evaluation of Meesha found her to have many potential costly medical challenges. Thanks to our Extraordinary Medical Fund, we were able to take on Meesha’s case.
Our shelter veterinarian Meesha diagnosed Meesha with congenital hip issues, low blood albumin that would require testing for kidney disease, severe poor dental health that would require cleaning and several major extractions, lyme disease, and alopecia and skin disease that left her with some permanent facial scarring. In addition, it was unclear if Meesha had ever been spayed. Despite suffering from all these medical issues, Meesha was a beautiful, sweet senior dog who just needed some TLC and a permanent home to keep and love her forever.
She found a wonderful home willing to help maintain her health. She loves hanging with her humans and her fur-brother, Truman.
“She has been going to work with my husband and has settled in nicely as an office dog. She is a sweetheart and we are just as lucky to have her!” – Deb, Meesha’s adopter
