Is Your “Missed Connection” Here at Baypath?

If you’ve been thinking about adding a dog to your family, now is the time! Baypath is excited to participate in the “Missed Connections” adoption event, alongside MSPCA-Angell and fellow MASS Coalition shelters. From Monday, February 17 through Sunday, February 23, adoption fees will be waived for all dogs aged one year and older, giving more dogs the chance to find their forever families.

Like many shelters across Massachusetts, Baypath is currently operating at full capacity. In the past two years, dog surrenders have increased by 85%, putting a strain on available resources, from food and medical care to shelter space. In addition to local surrenders, we continue to support lifesaving transports from our southern rescue partners. By adopting, you’re giving a dog in need a home while helping us make space for more animals requiring care.

We believe that adoption is more than just finding a pet – it’s about creating a lasting bond. Our adoption counselors use a unique matchmaking process, taking the time to get to know each dog, considering their personality, energy level, and unique needs to match them with adopters whose lifestyles align. This matchmaking process remains in place throughout fee waived promotions, ensuring successful placements and long-term happiness for both dogs and adopters.

When applying for adoption, you may specify whether you are interested in a particular dog, multiple dogs, or a general match.

While indicating interest in multiple dogs does not affect adoption speed or priority, it helps our team better understand your preferences and may allow us to suggest a potential fit from other participating MA shelters
