Fall Appeal 2024

With fall in the air, we hope you savored every moment of summer. Baypath alumna Addie sure did!

After being abandoned outside a local supermarket, this sweet senior made her way to Baypath thanks to our partnership with Shrewsbury Animal Control. Dog Programs Coordinator Emma Wailgum welcomed Addie to the shelter on that cold January day. “She was covered in fleas and trembling with fear,” Emma recalls.A small black dog with white fur around the muzzle looking up. “I gave her a bath, wrapped her in a towel and she quickly fell asleep in my arms. Seeing how fragile and tired she was, I decided to take her home to foster.”

Because of your compassionate support, our team has the resources needed to help vulnerable animals like Addie. Senior pets benefit immensely from Baypath’s foster program, allowing them to decompress in peaceful home environments. Additionally, our animal welfare alliances, veterinary partnerships, adoption matchmaking and post-adoption resources ensure positive outcomes for each dog and cat we serve.

For nearly six months, Emma oversaw Addie’s recovery from skin issues, malnutrition and multiple surgeries. Once healed, this 12-year-old was adopted by Anna and Dustin.

Your thoughtful generosity truly saves lives, offering animals with nowhere else to turn a warm place to land and the opportunity to thrive in a caring forever home.

You also complete families, strengthening the human-animal bond with every show of support. Anna and Dustin report they had their best summer yet thanks to their new beloved companion:

The most relaxed dog ever, Addie (and her one tooth!) is so happy to come with us wherever we go. She’s been to Boston, New York, restaurants, breweries, friends’ houses and the beach – usually in her doggy stroller! Our little fashionista has an outfit for every occasion and loves to wear her nautical dress at the Cape.

Thanks to your kindness, seniors like Addie spent the dog days of summer basking in the warmth of adoring adoptive families while enjoying new adventures. On behalf of these resilient dogs and cats, please accept our deepest gratitude for your place in the Baypath family – we could not fulfill our lifesaving mission without you!

You can help unwanted companion animals become treasured family members this fall with a gift of $50, $100, $250 or $500. May the joy of summer stay with you as the seasons change!

With sincerest gratitude,

Elizabeth Jefferis Signature
