COVID-19 Shelter Update

As of 10/15/2021

What a year and a half it’s been. From the staff, to the volunteers to the public, we have all worked well together to keep one another safe – and help hundreds of animals! We hope you and yours are safe as well!

We continue to remain closed for in-shelter visits at this time. That said, we also continue to match countless animals with loving families via our online application process. As always, customer safety, as well as the customer experience, is of utmost importance to us.

Below is the current status of the various programs at our shelter. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions. And know that we are continuing to navigate changes in guidelines and evolving data and will keep you posted as things progress.

Adoption:

Currently, we are closed to the public for in-shelter visits due to coronavirus.  That said, we are able to accommodate adoption meets for approved applicants by appointment. If you are still interested in a dog or a cat that you see online – who is either in shelter or in one of our many foster homes, we ask you to reach out via [email protected] – though you are always welcome to call and have a chat with the staff as well. We will then email you all the information we know about the animal. Then, if you are still interested, we will email you an application. Once we receive the application back, we can process it and reach out to you to talk more about the animal and answer any additional questions you may have. If both parties think the animal could be a good match, we will discuss next steps.

We are continuing to navigate changes in guidelines and evolving data, as we have been doing for the past year and a half – and will continue to assess our protocols and communicate any and all changes out to our community. We have found loving homes for over 1200 cats and dogs during the pandemic and look forward to working with you to help more. We hope you understand that we are doing the best we can while working with a limited staff, and we appreciate your patience with this different process.

Rehoming:

We are still taking in cats and dogs in need of rehoming, addressing their medical and behavior needs and matching them with. Please reach out to the appropriate email and we will be happy to walk you through the process.

Volunteering:

Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, our volunteer program is temporarily closed. Our current volunteers are helping us with the animals and we look forward to re-opening the program in the near future. Please check back!

Fostering:

We are always in need of fosters, though the need can vary.

Supply Donations:

We are so grateful for supply donations. We have a table at the end of the driveway for contactless drop off. We do ask that you check our wish list page on the website where we list the items we need most, as well as list out those supplies we cannot accept.

We also ask that you ideally avoid dropping off on rainy or snowy days as we do not have cover over the table.

Lastly, if you would like a tax receipt we are happy to provide – simply email us at [email protected]. Thank you!

***Please note – we can no longer accept open bags of food or treats – or expired food.

P.S. If you would like a tax receipt for your donation, we would be more than happy to provide that. Please email [email protected] with a list of goods and we will get you your receipt!
