Success Story

Bon Jovi is a 3-year-old cat surrendered to Baypath. Although he was adored by his family, they fell on hard times and were no longer able to care for Bon Jovi, including paying for much-needed extractions due to dental disease. Unfortunately, we find that many of the dogs and cats that come into our care have endured severe periodontal issues. Far too many have not received proper nutrition and care throughout their life, leading to Grade 3 and 4 dental disease. At these stages, toxins can be absorbed into a dog or cat’s bloodstream, causing serious organ damage. Extractions oftentimes are the only way to prevent infection and alleviate considerable pain.

Thanks to our Extraordinary Medical Fund, we were able to get Bon Jovi the dental care he required.

When he first came to us he was understandably shy as he was experiencing great discomfort in his mouth. Now he is healthy and thriving in his home!

“Bon Jovi has definitely bonded with us. He loves playing with any shadows and chases his tails. He runs across the house like a racetrack. He loves being with our 8-year-old daughter, Sophie.” - Hongmei Zhang, Bon Jovi’s adopter

Rosie the Riveter

Rosie the Riveter is a 6-year-old Jack Russell mix who came to us from a rescue partner in Louisiana. We soon realized she was suffering from glaucoma.

Meesha is a seven-year-old golden retriever who was surrendered by a family who couldn't care for her many costly health issues.

Lizzie was in distress during the birth of her kittens, and was rushed to a local emergency center, who quickly discovered she had obstructed labor.

Supporting the Lilly & Orchid Extraordinary Medical Fund guarantees that animals in need of live-saving treatment get the care they need.
