ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY – MEET BRIAR (NOW CLEO!)
When sweet, young female Briar arrived at Baypath, staff soon discovered that not only did she have an upper respiratory infection, lung fluke and severe anemia, she also was pregnant.
Briar’s medical conditions required emergency veterinary care including oxygen, several medications and even a blood transfusion. The emergency hospital was able to complete the transfusion with the help of a clinic cat named ‘Zeke,’ who helped save Briar’s life. Soon after her treatments, Briar gave birth to an adorable gray male kitten, who was named ‘Zeke’ in her blood donor’s honor.
One of Baypath’s beloved staff members fostered Briar and ended up falling in love with the charming feline and her tiny sidekick, Zeke. Once Briar had recovered from her illnesses and rested after birthing her kittens, her energy and appetite improved and her spunky personality started to emerge.
Now, several months later, Briar is living the cozy life in a home of her own, adored by her doting owners – the parents of our staff member who fostered both her and Zeke. Briar now goes by Cleo, which isn’t surprising, considering her regal face, commanding personality and fierce dominance of snuggly blankets – just like her namesake Cleopatra!
