Adapting to change, committed to care.
For decades, reducing pet overpopulation has been a cornerstone of Baypath’s lifesaving work.
Thanks to your partnership, we’ve helped thousands of animals live healthier lives while easing the strain on shelters and families alike through our comprehensive spay/neuter program. But as the needs of our community evolve, so must our efforts. Your gift today to our Spay/Neuter Fund will help ensure that Baypath can meet the continuing demand.
A Changing Landscape
In recent years, our staff, volunteers and fosters have contended with an exceedingly challenging animal welfare landscape, largely due to socioeconomic factors impacting people and pets locally and around the country. Because of your generosity, we’ve had the means to effectively respond to this national sheltering crisis. Critical to these essential efforts is a robust spay/neuter program.
Kitten (and Puppy) Season
You’ve likely heard that spring is known as ‘kitten season,’ the time of year when shelters are inundated with an influx of pregnant cats and litters. But now this so-called ‘season’ has become a year-round phenomenon, not only for neonatal kittens but for an increasing number of pregnant dogs and newborn puppies as well. These trends strain our limited resources, as pregnant cats and dogs often require costly veterinary interventions, while young kittens and puppies need dedicated around-the-clock care.
From Surviving to Thriving: Malika and Te Fiti’s Stories of Hope
Meet Te Fiti
Te Fiti, a local 3-year-old dog who was surrendered this winter, arrived at Baypath with her six newborns in tow. Though underweight and suffering from suspected pancreatitis, Te Fiti proved to be an attentive mom to her one-week-old pups. Thanks to your thoughtful generosity, our caring team warmly embraced these precious puppies, offering them kisses and smiles as their tiny eyes opened for the very first time!
Meet Malika
Malika’s journey shines a light on the incredible impact of your generous support. This young kitty made her way to Baypath thanks to one of our dedicated community cat volunteers. Upon intake, Shelter Manager Nikki Baltas, CVT, realized Malika needed immediate attention and reached out to our friends at Pawsitive Urgent Care. In the nick of time, an emergency C-section was completed, saving the lives of Malika and three kittens. You power these heartwarming happy endings!
Helping Us Meet the Moment
Because of your compassion, we can assist community members and animals like Malika and TeFiti when they need it most.
Your gift today to our Spay/Neuter Fund will help animals like Malika and Te Fiti – and prevent countless others from ever ending up in a shelter. Please give today. On behalf of all the cats and dogs we serve, thank you for collaborating with us to save more lives. We could not do it without you!
Sincerely,
